Yup, time to revamp Medicaid. Lower income people have just had it too good too long. Rural hospitals have just had it too good. People who access federal health insurance programs have just had it too good. And most of all, families who benefit, by being fed, through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program have just had it too good.
Enough of this, said Rep. Jeff Hurd.
Enough of kids getting fed and people using the Affordable Care Act. Time to come down on these people, young and old, who are just gaming the system. That is one of the things that Congress’ 900+ page bill will do: come down hard on people currently using federal programs.
Did our Rep. Hurd listen to the vast majority of his constituents when he voted on this bill? Despite protestations from the GOP that this bill will not hurt anyone, this bill will hurt people in CD3. Does Hurd understand that? Did he vote against a budget bill that does not, as he says, rein in waste, fraud, and abuse by all those recipients who are just making out like fat rats? Did he vote against the bill?
No, and now will be known forever as ‘Tone Deaf Jeff’ who, out of fear of incurring the wrath of ‘The Man Who Would Be King,’ sang from Trump’s hymnal, and did not listen to or watch out for his constituents and their hospitals, and will bring truly unnecessary hardship to hundreds of thousands of CD3 constituents.
