Reporting on sign was one-sided, uncool

I have found the article about the Toh-Atin chief to be distasteful (“

I think the rhetoric used to describe the importance of the pieces overlooked a lot of sensitivities within the community. While it is cool to highlight an art piece’s roots and history, this piece happens to come from racist roots and that should be acknowledged.

It is not cool to use cultural imagery (especially inaccurate and offensive ones such as this sign) to profit from. This “feel good article” is very obviously intended to strike the hearts of white tourists (especially how you highlighted European tourism roots) and overlook our wonderful indigenous people and their land and culture.

Please consider removing or changing the rhetoric to be made inclusive to other perspectives. One-sided reporting hurts the community.
