Republicans aim to curb your freedom

It didn’t take long for the sleaze bag Republicans to abandon their campaign promises and show their true colors. For all their blathering about freedom, their No. 1 agenda is taking away your freedom. The only freedom they really care about is gun ownership. Although I’d wager none of them has ever really needed a gun for personal protection their entire lives, they continue to rail about the need for 15-round magazines despite the unprecedented rise in mass murders nationwide using these weapons. J Paul Brown of course is supporting efforts to repeal common-sense gun-control legislation, proving once again he’s a tea-party stooge.

He’s turned about face again, claiming during his campaign that he’s for the “all of the above” energy strategy, yet the first thing he does is try to overturn statewide green-energy mandates. He also plans to concentrate on roads, although I’ve never heard anyone in the area make that an issue. I guess he figures we need more bridges to nowhere, or overly engineered and confusing intersections with green cyclist death lanes. He’s probably just looking to get the road to his house paved. Anything but tackle real issues.

Republicans are already demonstrating they will continue to waste our time flooding the halls of Congress with go-nowhere bills that serve no purpose. They continue their war on women, killing funding for equitable wage studies and chipping away at abortion rights. Now they’re trying to claim IUDs cause abortions. They continue to deny basic freedoms for gays, refusing to recognize they have no chance of winning anti-gay marriage battles in court. Colorado is one of only 16 states with its head still in the sand. They continue to denigrate illegal immigrants, refusing to allow basic rights and now defunding the driver’s license bill despite the obvious safety issues involved with unlicensed drivers.

The clowns are now running the circus, sit back and watch your freedom disappear.
