Shame on you, President Thomas, for considering dismissing Dr. Gulliford simply because an overly sensitive author thought some words used in his book were protected by law. Fortunately, a clear-headed attorney concluded the author’s claim was absurd.
As an enthusiastic supporter of Fort Lewis for more than 50 years, I hope this incident does not diminish Gulliford’s reputation in any way. I am glad he will remain a faculty member and can continue his significant contributions to the college and the community.
Presidents come and go, but distinguished professors just fade away.
