Is anybody else getting tired of talking to answering machines? It seems like our public service sector jobs all went to working from home during COVID-19 but never returned to the office.
It seems like every time I call public health, state offices, forest service, etc., I get the answering machine and maybe somebody will call back in a few days. I have heard that many of these jobs are remote now.
To me, remote working is “I'll get to it eventually” working. Without the fear of a supervisor watching you in the office, most people will not be as productive. I know these workers love to be at home, like we all do, but America’s productivity is suffering if we just interact with the answering machine.
