Resolution Run postponed

Run to be rescheduled in January or February

Runners will have to wait a little longer to participate in the second edition of the Durango Resolution Run.

The event, scheduled for New Year’s Eve Friday in the Three Springs area, has been postponed.

“We made the decision (Thursday) morning, and it was a weather-related call,” said race director Dale Garland. “It was postponed due to the threat of inclement weather.”

According to the National Weather Service, there was a 90% chance of snow in Durango Thursday night with 1 to 3 inches of snow possible. The chances of snow Friday jump to 100%, with 2 to 4 inches possible during the day and an 80% chance of snow Friday night with another 1 to 3 inches possible.

Garland said the Durango Resolution Run plans to reschedule the 5K for January or February.

As of Thursday, 66 people had signed for the event, which helps fund Durango High School athletics and activities.
