Jake Rafferty, center, and his friends right their raft Monday afternoon after the Fort Lewis College students lodged against a Main Avenue bridge pylon. Durango Fire & Rescue Authority and Durango Police Department responded, but the students were able to free themselves and safely reach a bank. With Rafferty is Bre Pascuzzo, Westley Latka, Brittani Sullivan, Kathrine Vaughn and Kinsey Ipson.
