Using a watershed approach, the ARSG developed a remediation plan, recommended feasible water quality standards and implemented many successful remediation projects.

The ARSG was a model for how a collaborative approach can generate efficient results on the ground.

While the Gold King blowout, and the unfortunate series of events that followed, derailed ARSG’s timeline to make additional significant water quality improvements by 2017, nothing can tarnish the sterling legacy of the ARSG.

As a longtime member of the ARSG, Sunnyside Gold would like to salute the ARSG and all of the persons and entities who devoted countless hours in support of the collaborative and local approach. In particular, we would like to thank Peter Butler and Bill Simon for their tireless efforts and commitment to the environment.
