Night work next week in downtown Durango is expected to cause traffic delays.
Night work on U.S. Highway 550/Camino del Rio, near Town Plaza, will result in traffic lane closures and delays next week.
Night work will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday on Camino del Rio.
Lisa Schwantes, spokeswoman for CDOT, said the work is part of the construction of the new 88-room hotel currently being built. The work involves the locating of utilities and soil sampling.
Drivers are likely to encounter lane shifts and closures at 1111 Camino del Rio. No work is expected to occur during the day, but drivers will experience traffic shifts because of impacts to the road.
“Drivers are urged to slow down and follow signage and flagging personnel directing traffic through the work zone,” CDOT said in a news release.
