Road resurfacing projects will impact four Durango neighborhoods beginning next week.

The work is expected to begin Monday and will extend through Aug. 5, according to the city of Durango. The projects will impact residents of Twin Buttes subdivision, Jackson Place, Conejo Place and Alamo Drive.

Sections of each road to be resurfaced will be closed for a day at a time. Closures begin at 7 a.m., but residents will be allowed to leave the work zone up until 7:30 a.m. Each section will remain closed for 24 hours.

Residents will have to park nearby and walk to and from their homes while the roads are closed, according to the city.

Pedestrians will still be able to access closed sections of the road, but residents have been asked to turn their sprinklers off to avoid moisture on the new road surface.

Road resurfacing extends the life span of roads. Andale Construction, the contractor on the project, plans to use a high-density mineral bond called HA5.

A full map of the road closures, including the dates for closures of specific sections of roads, is available on the city of Durango’s website.
