Road Runner Transit announces temporary transit route adjustments

(Durango Herald file)

Road Runner Transit will temporarily reduce service because of a drop in local nonfederal funding, according to a March 26 news release.

County Dial-A-Ride (reserve a ride) will run only Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with 48 hours’ notice required.

Fixed-route service on the Ignacio-Bayfield-Durango line will operate Monday through Friday only, starting April 6 on the following schedule:

  • 2A AM leaves Ignacio at 8:30 a.m.
  • 2B AM leaves Durango at 10 a.m.
  • 4A PM leaves Ignacio at 4:55 p.m.
  • 4B PM leaves Durango at 6:20 p.m.

The agency said Bustang Outrider service and Ignacio/Bayfield Dial-A-Ride will remain unchanged.

The transit agency said the cutbacks are needed to maintain service while it seeks to restore full operations.
