Rotary Club of Durango Daybreak will deliver wood to seniors in need Saturday.
Each summer for the past 16 years, Daybreak members have gathered, split and stacked wood for fall deliveries. This summer was no different with the exception of masks worn by Rotarians to comply with COVID-19 health safety measures.
On Saturday, Rotarians and other volunteers will gather at Target Rental to load wood for distribution to La Plata County seniors identified by Vicki Maestas and Kate Garrett with Senior Services of La Plata County. Seniors will also receive City Market gift cards purchased by Daybreak Rotary in the amount of $25.
Anyone who would like to volunteer for this year’s delivery or be a part of next year’s wood splitting, collection and delivery should email David Waller at rotarydhw@gmail.com.
