Rotary Club of Durango to hear from Al Harper

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad owner Al Harper will talk to the Rotary Club of Durango about American Heritage Railways on Tuesday at the Strater Hotel.

The Rotary Club of Durango will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad owner Al Harper will give a talk titled “Durango, Colorado – The Historic Train Capital of the World” about American Heritage Railways.

Harper’s talk will be held leading up to Narrow Gauge Day, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the railroad depot, 479 Main Ave. The event will celebrate the narrow gauge’s history and feature music by the Bar D Wranglers.

The meeting is free and open to all.
