Rotary Club of Durango to hear history of Colorado Coal Wars

The next Rotary Club of Durango meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.

Historian Craig Nettleton will speak about the Colorado Coal Wars and Ludlow Massacre of the early 20th century. The massacre was the culmination of an extensive strike against Colorado coal mines and occurred after militia and camp guards fought all day against workers on strike.
