Rotary Club of Durango to host author Shelby Tisdale

Rotary Club of Durango will host award-winning author Shelby Tisdale at 6 p.m. Tuesday on Zoom.

Tisdale will present highlights from “Federico: One Man’s Remarkable Journey from Tututepec to L.A.,” which she recently edited for author Federico Jiménez Caballero.

This story of an Indigenous jewelry artist’s rise to fame was a collaboration between Tisdale and Jimenez over a five-year period.

Tisdale is the director of the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College. Tisdale has more than 40 years of experience in museums; anthropological, tribal museum and cultural resource management consulting; and university teaching. Tisdale is also the current president of the Rotary Club of Durango.
