Butch Knowlton, director of Emergency Preparedness for La Plata County, will speak to Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday , at the Henry Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave., about the county’s role in wild land fires.
Knowlton will discuss the recent larger fires that have occurred, including the 416 Fire, the 358 Fire and the Lightner Creek Fire.
