Brian Rose of the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado will speak to a virtual meeting of the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
Rose will discuss Region 9’s mission and how its staff is striving to meet it. Region 9 is part the state’s enterprise zone tax credit program, and he will explain how this benefits small-business owners and how charitable donors can receive state tax credits.
Region 9 is a nonprofit whose mission is to work with the public and private sectors to enhance the economic conditions and improve the economic prosperity for the five counties of Southwest Colorado. As deputy director, Rose manages a $6 million loan portfolio focused on startup and emerging businesses that are creating and retaining jobs. Before joining Region 9 in 2018, Rose spent 15 years in commercial lending in central and Southwest Colorado.
