The Rotary Club of Durango will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.
Dennis O’Brien, a Rotary Club member, chiropractor and part-time Durango resident, will speak about projects by the Rotary Club of Los Barriles, a small town in Baja California Sur, Mexico, located halfway between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz, the state’s capital city.
O’Brien, also a resident of Baja California Sur, will talk about current club efforts, which include a clean water project and an initiative to open a clinic that provides affordable services for women and children in Los Barriles. Last April, the Animas High School Student Interact Club helped the club with service projects.
The meeting is free and open to all.
