Justin Boga will speak about the public defender’s role within the legal system at a virtual meeting of the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
Boga has been the supervising attorney of the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Durango since 2009.
Looking at the Public Defender Mandate nationally, in Colorado and in Southwest Colorado jurisdictions, he will answer why the U.S. has public defenders, how this works in Colorado and what occurs locally in the 6th and 22nd Judicial Districts.
