Rotary collecting coats for Myanmar

Do you perhaps have a gently used children's coat you could donate for a child in Myanmar who doesn't have a coat? If so, please drop it off at the Pine River Public Library in Bayfield. The Pine River Rotary Club will deliver those coats to the Shanta Foundation, a Durango-based non-profit which works closely with villages in Myanmar to improve education, health and economic conditions.

We'll be collecting coats through mid-October so that Shanta Foundation volunteers can take the coats to Myanmar on their service trip in November.

At this time, they only need more children's coats, so any adult size coats we receive will be passed on to the La Plata Humane Society Thrift Store.

Pine River Rotary Club thanks everyone who has donated or will donate a coat for a child in need overseas and also thanks the Pine River Library for serving as a coat collection point.

This is a great community!
