Rugby's Rescue House, a nonprofit dog rescue in Pagosa Springs, and Pagosa Fun will host a community dance from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 21 in Town Park.
New Mexican band Cuarenta y Cinco will provide live music for the dance. The band is known for its high energy dance music, a blend of rancheras, cumbias, balses, boleros, country-western, oldies and modern rock.
Participants should bring camping chairs or blankets to sit on. A cash bar and food will be available. This is a family friendly event.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 13 and younger. There are no advance ticket sales. Tickets are available at the gate. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds go toward Rugby's Rescue House, which focuses on rescuing dogs from surrounding reservations.
