Pine River Library is hosting an art exhibit of the works of Russell Box Sr. Box is an artist, spiritual leader and Southern Ute Elder whose works are also on display at the Southern Ute Museum and Cultural Center in Ignacio and the Smithsonian Museum of the Native American in Washington, D.C.
The reception will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday (May 14). Box will talk about his art and his book, “The Physical and Spiritual Journey of a Southern Ute Elder,” which was written with Judith A. Stone. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
Box’s art will be on display until the end of June.
