Sacred Space opens in Bayfield

Sacred Space, "a place of love, light and grace" opened this summer in downtown Bayfield.

Owner Crystal Andasola has run the business for 13 years and has been conducting spiritual readings for more than 30 years. After living in Bayfield for five years, she relocated her business here from Durango.

"This was always my dream," she said at a ribbon cutting Monday, gesturing to the turquoise and purple walls inside her business at 110 E. Mill St. at the front of the Mill Street Suites building. It was formerly the home of the Pine River Times.

During her readings, she says she focuses on spiritual transformation, prosperity, joy, abundance, and "helping people vibrate to their highest potential."

Sacred Space contains an impressive collection of rocks and crystals, jewelry by Juanita Melendez and other craftspeople, and hand-dyed quilts by Alison Goss of Durango.

Andalosa said she likes to support local jewelry makers and miners by selling their goods.

"It's tiny by mighty!" she said of her transformed space, which also contains books on spirituality, incense, smudge bundles and other items.

Sacred Space can be reached at 259-0154 or sacredspacedurango.com.
