More than 37 million soldiers have died protecting our democracy. In one fell swoop, the trump (little t) cult has made their sacrifice insignificant. I thought this country had learned its lesson during the disastrous trump presidency, but obviously, I was wrong. Instead, we chose to elect a misogynist, fascist, rapist, criminal and draft dodger again. He has no respect for our veterans and military, and for those who died protecting our democracy, as evidenced by his “suckers and losers” comment. Those who pulled the lever for trump weren’t thinking about their kids and grandkids, just themselves, like trump.
I thought in 2016 that America was smart enough not to elect him, but once again I was wrong. If I sound bitter, I am. As a Vietnam veteran, I watched a communist country take over a country filled with hardworking, peaceful people. That’s what the trump cult just did with this fascist. They don’t listen to the truth, only the lies of trump and his gang of liars. He doesn’t care about this country or the Constitution, but only staying out of jail and making money off his presidency. Election Day was a sad day for America. It may be the last election we’ll have.
