San Juan Basin Archaeological Society to host presentation about Chacoan roads

San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will host a presentation at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Lyceum at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.

After a brief business meeting, Robert Weiner will present: “Chacoan Roads: How Were They Used and Why Does It Matter?” The presentation will also be available on Zoom. For log-in information, visit SJBAS.ORG.

Weiner is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Colorado Boulder, research fellow with the Solstice Project and staff archaeologist for Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions. His dissertation research explores the history, use and meaning of monumental roads associated with Chaco Canyon and its regional polity during the 11th and 12th centuries in Southwest.
