San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.
Animas Museum grant project director Mona Charles will give a presentation titled “West to East and Kidder to Morris: A Historical Perspective on the Basket Makers of the American Southwest.”
A social will be held before the meeting from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
Charles, a longtime La Plata County resident and former Fort Lewis College professor, has more than 40 years of archaeological experience and owns Powderhorn Research, a Durango-based independent archaeological consulting firm.
