San Juan Basin Archaeological Society to meet virtually Wednesday

San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will host a presentation by Steve Nash at 7 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.

After a brief business meeting, Nash will present his talk, “Mogollon Archaeology Near Reserve, New Mexico: A Journey from Chicago to Denver and Beyond.”

Nash is director of anthropology and senior curator of archaeology at Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where he has worked for 14 years. He conducts fieldwork focused on the Mogollon archaeology of southwestern New Mexico. He has written and edited seven books and has conducted archaeological research around the world, including at Neanderthal sites in France and at Mesa Verde National Park.

From 1999 to 2006, he served as head of collections in the department of anthropology at the Field Museum in Chicago. He also teaches public speaking with PitchLab and does science-based stand-up comedy with ScienceRiot.
