San Juan College has extended the delivery of online classes through the end of the spring semester.
This decision comes after the announcement by New Mexico Public Education Secretary Stewart that all public schools in the state will shift to a learn-at-home model as schools will remain closed for the rest of the academic year.
Public colleges and universities are not included in the order. However, the governor is strongly urging regents and governing boards to move to online models to the greatest extent possible. Nearly all public higher education institutions in New Mexico are shifting to an online learning model at this time.
The San Juan College campus will remain closed to visitors and students through April 10, including mandating that all nonessential employees continue to work remotely. Nonessential workforce will continue to work from home until April 10
Graduation ceremonies have been postponed until further notice. While the campus is currently closed, advisers will be available by phone and online for students to begin registering for summer and fall classes on April 20.
