The San Juan College Theatre will present its spring drama, “Our Town,” at 7 p.m. March 6, 7, 13 and 14 and at 2 p.m. March 15 in the San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall.
“Our Town” by Thornton Wilder tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its residents. It explores the relationship between two young Grover’s Corners’ neighbors, George Gibbs and Emily Webb, whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance, then culminates in marriage. When Emily dies in childbirth, the circle of life portrayed in each of the three acts – growing up, adulthood and death – is fully realized. The play is performed without a set on a mostly bare stage.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $8 for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in the San Juan College Box Office or online at www.sanjuancollege.edu/silhouette.
