Starting Nov. 12, Christmas tree permits can be purchased for $8 in Durango at Kroegers Ace Hardware, 8 Town Plaza, and the San Juan National Forest Headquarters at 15 Burnett Court, or in Bayfield at Columbine Ranger District Office at 367 Pearl St.

Permits can also be purchased online for an additional $2.50 fee at www.recreation.gov/tree-permits.
