In an effort to keep patients, visitors and staff members safe, San Juan Regional Medical Center is enhancing its current flu season visitor guidelines.
Anyone with a fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea should refrain from visiting patients in the hospital or Emergency Room.No visitors younger than 14.Patients who have a fever, cough or sore throat should ask for a mask and wear it.Visitors must wash their hands before entering a patient room and upon leaving the room.Patients, visitors and staff are all asked to wash their hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.The hospital reminds the community to be prepared, not panicked, when it comes to coronavirus. The majority of illnesses associated with COVID-19 are mild and do not require hospitalization. Those who may have been exposed should contact their primary care provider for further guidance or call the state of New Mexico’s 24/7 hotline at (855) 600-3453.
