San Juan Regional Medical Center is open and ready to meet patients’ needs, whether COVID-19 related or not. The hospital is taking extra precautions to keep patients safe.
Entrance points are monitored to ensure all rules are followed. Cloth masks are mandatory for all patients, visitors and staff. Visitors are screened for symptoms and exposure to COVID-19. Check-in is required to make sure everyone who enters the building needs to be there. Once an appointment is complete, patients are asked to exit the building.
The number of outpatients inside the facility at one time is limited. There are designated COVID and non-COVID floors to keep patient populations separate. Caregivers have ample supplies of personal protective equipment. Precautions have been taken to protect patients in waiting areas, including hand sanitizer, masking and social-distancing guidelines posted and monitored by staff and cleaning and sanitizing practices.
Consultation and exam rooms are arranged for social distancing. Patients and the care team will stay masked. Staff are committed to frequent hand-washing. Care will be delivered efficiently and effectively while allowing physical distancing as much as possible.
Virtual visits are also available for those who staff determine do not need in-person care.
