San Juan Regional Medical Center open to meet all medical needs

San Juan Regional Medical Center is still open to meet the public’s urgent and emergent medical needs of all kinds, and it is safe to come to the hospital, whether community members’ concerns are COVID-19-related or not.

Caregivers are at the hospital and ready to provide quality care to everyone who needs it. Their resources are not overwhelmed. While they hospital is currently caring for some COVID-19 patients, the number fluctuates daily and is well within the hospital’s capacity. They have taken a number of steps to ensure patient and caregiver safety, such as dividing areas into COVID and Non-COVID floors.

Patients should not hesitate to come to the hospital to receive care. They will be safe and separated from COVID patients. For expectant mothers, the Childbirth Center is a secure unit with controlled access. For patients needing primary and specialty care with San Juan Health Partners clinics, those clinics are now providing video visits.

The hospital asks the community to follow the governor’s mandate to stay at home and practice social distancing. San Juan County has unmitigated rate of COVID-19 community transmission. When people do have to go out for essentials, stay at least 6 feet away from others and wear a mask. These actions really do save lives.
