San Juan Regional Medical Center provides coronavirus updates through new hotline

San Juan Regional Medical Center now has a Coronavirus Information Hotline to share important information with the community.

The public can call hotline numbers (505) 516-0938 or (888) 949-5387 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Information will be updated on an ongoing basis to provide patients and community members with what they need to know to protect themselves and their loved ones.

The hospital is staying abreast of all updates from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New Mexico Department of Health. In addition, the hospital is partnering with key community stakeholders – including city and county officials, local school districts, law enforcement and fire departments – to coordinate a response to best care for the community.

According to the CDC, the risk of getting COVID-19 in the United States is currently low, and most people who get it will experience mild illness and not need to come to the hospital.

People with symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath and who have been in contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19, or those who have recently traveled to parts of the world with high COVID-19 infection rates, should contact their health care provider for further instruction.

People who do not have a health care provider, can contact the New Mexico Department of Health at (505) 827-0006.
