San Juan Regional Medical Center has re-instituted a visitor restriction policy for the health and safety of patients and caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visitors will not be permitted in the main hospital, Emergency Department and San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital effective Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Signs are posted at the entrance of each location with this information. In addition, patients visiting San Juan Health Partners clinics should not bring anyone else to their appointments, unless they need the assistance of a caregiver. Parents taking a child to an appointment should only bring in the primary child who has an appointment and leave any other siblings home with a caregiver.
Exceptions to visitor restrictions may be made on a case-by-case basis, with special considerations made for minor patients, end-of-life situations, childbirth and patients lacking decisional capacity. Any exceptions will be limited to one family member or caregiver. Those exceptions will be made under the direction of the bedside nurse, attending physician or management resource nurse.
