San Juan volunteer rangers needed

Tourist season in the San Juan Mountains is in full swing and favorite trails are seeing heavy use, including Ice Lakes, Needle Creek, Purgatory Flats, Vallecito Creek and Pass Creek.

Volunteers are needed to monitor these trails, talk to visitors about minimizing their impacts and ensure that hikers keep these world-class resources in great shape. Existing volunteers are encouraged to get out on these trails specifically.

Volunteers are also being sought to help replenish the WAG bag box at Needle Creek so visitors can pack out their waste.

Seasoned or new volunteers can contact David Taft at dtaft@sjma.org.
