The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a half-day workshop, “Starting Your Business,” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9 at the Durango Public Library, Program Room One.
Starting a business can be challenging and uncertain. This course is designed to help you navigate through the steps needed to start a successful business. Presenters include a small business specialist, a marketing expert, an insurance agent, a small business banker, a local alternative lending resources, an attorney and an accountant.
Topics to be covered include: business planning; legal structure; taxes; insurance; marketing and market research; finance options; and available local resources.
The cost of the workshop is $25 or $20 for Chamber of Commerce/Local First members. Bring a brown bag lunch and snacks.
