These candidates for sheriff in this election offer us some stark choices. Once again, with prompting from the Herald, we are being asked to trust a young, inexperienced ideologue who is content to ask that we hope for change while being offered little else.

I have had enough of this experiment and see a clear alternative in Sheriff Schirard. A lifetime of law enforcement experience and clear understanding that the rights afforded under the Constitution are not up for barter are handy qualities in a sheriff.

I will have an easy decision to make between these two candidates. Vote for Duke.
