The Philanthropic Educational Organization chapter FX announced that recent local graduates have received scholarship funding.
Natasha Doney, a Durango High School graduate, was awarded the Wanda Greve Memorial Scholarship, which supplied $1,500 to fund an environmental engineering study at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Gabriella Gething, a recent GED graduate, was awarded the P.E.O. Colorado State Scholarship, which supplied $3,750 to fund early childhood education at Northwestern Community College in Craig.
P.E.O. scholarships promote educational opportunities for women locally, statewide and internationally.
