School gun violence can happen here

Here we are again, another school shooting and 17 lives are gone. I hope we get on board with the students in Florida and march on March 24.

We need to have better laws, need to pass and enforce laws, on background checks. We need to get semi-automatic firearms with detachable magazines and pistol grips with flash suppressors or barrel shrouds out of the hands of people with mental problems.

Why do U.S. citizens need to have guns that kill students? I am a Safety Coordinator and it breaks my heart when I hear about any school shooting. These senseless acts devastate families and communities.

Do not say it can not happen here because it can. It happened at my school, Granite Hills High School, in El Cajon, California, where I graduated.
