The Durango High School baseball team headed to New Mexico on Wednesday to take on the Farmington Scorpions.

Four different Demons ended up taking the mound, but Durango could not quiet Farmington’s bats. The Scorpions eventually won the game 18-3.

On offense, Gavin Hamlin had a base hit, drove in one RBI and scored once for DHS. Jack Englund hit a double and scored a run while Lane Greenlee also hit a double to drive in a run. Cameron Lucero had a base hit and scored the team’s other run. AJ Folk had a base hit and an RBI.

The Demons slipped to 5-4 overall with the loss, while Farmington improved to 7-8.

Next, DHS will head to Denver for a pair of games Saturday against George Washington (4-3).

Durango will then host a rematch with Farmington at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
