Second annual Holiday Station in full swing

Join us for the second annual Holiday Station, a holiday-themed event series across La Plata County, from Nov. 24 to Dec. 31. As the festivities are already in full swing, we’re excited to announce there are still numerous events, perfect for families and visitors looking to dive into the holiday spirit.

Holiday Station isn’t just a series of events; it embodies a mission to bring together and showcase our community’s unique charm during this festive season. We’re dedicated to creating memorable experiences for all participants by fostering inclusivity and accessibility. Our goal is to enhance traditional holiday celebrations and introduce innovative experiences that will become cherished traditions for years to come.

Holiday Station presents an exceptional chance to immerse yourself in the vibrant holiday happenings of La Plata County. It’s a time to connect local families and visitors with local organizations and businesses, celebrate our community's achievements, and create lasting holiday memories.

In addition to our previously announced events, we have an array of new and exciting activities lined up:

  • The Polar Express Train Ride, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Dec. 11-31.
  • Holiday Holler, Pop-Up Caroling, meet at the Durango Welcome Center, 802 Main Ave., noon-1 p.m. Dec. 23.
  • Manna’s Christmas Brunch, Manna soup kitchen, 1100 Avenida del Sol, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 25.
  • Winter Friends and Family Art Show, Durango Welcome Center, 802 Main Ave., 4-7 p.m. Dec. 28.
  • New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade, Purgatory Resort, 6 p.m. Dec. 31.

These events are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s something for everyone, from Christmas bazaar lovers and caroling enthusiasts to families looking for a magical holiday train ride.
