Jury selection began Monday in 6th Judicial District Court for a Hesperus man suspected of sexually assaulting a child.
It is the second trial for Marx; an error in court procedures lead to a mistrial in late October.
Marx is accused of multiple felonies, including sexual assault on a child as a pattern of abuse and tampering with a witness. He faces an estimated 10 to 32 years in prison if found guilty of the various charges.
Assistant District Attorney Christian Champagne is prosecuting. The Public Defender’s Office is defending Marx.
District Judge William Herringer is overseeing the trial.
Jury selection went past 5 p.m. Monday.
Opening statements are expected to be made Tuesday morning.
