A property tax exemption is available for tax year 2019, affecting taxes payable in 2020, for qualifying seniors and surviving spouses of those who previously qualified.
The senior application deadline is July 15.
Seniors must be 65 as of Jan. 1 and have owned and resided on the property as their primary residence as of Dec. 31, 2008.
Fifty percent of the first $200,000 of actual value of their primary residence is exempt. The state will fund the exemption for tax year 2019.
Once approved, applicants should not reapply.
