Seniors thank Marshal's Office

Genessa Heide, left, receives a pie from Charlene Johnson on July 21. Also getting pies last week were Dan Cyr and Joe Hochnadel. Cookie Hoselton baked the pies, and Kay Phelps helped deliver the baked goods.

The Pine River Seniors group wanted to show appreciation to the Bayfield Marshal's Office, especially after the fatal attacks on police in Dallas and Baton Rouge this month.

On July 21, Pine River Seniors board members Kay Phelps, Charlene Johnson and Cookie Hoselton delivered 10 pies made by Hoselton, so each deputy plus receptionist Genessa Heide could have one to take home.

They also brought appreciation posters covered with short messages from many Pine River Senior Center regulars. Deputies Dan Cyr and Joe Hochanadel also were present to receive the goodies. They promised to share.
