William Ed Vollert, a registered sex offender who was living near Bayfield, was arrested for violating his parole. He is being held at La Plata County jail while his case is reviewed.

The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office is not aware of new crimes committed by Vollert, said spokesman Dan Bender. Violations can result in revocation of parole, Bender said.

Vollert, who has been classified as a sexually violent predator, was arrested Thursday.
