Share your Halloween decoration photos. Oh, and about that spam... (we’re sorry)

Dear readers,

We’ve been seeing a lot of spooky and over-the-top Halloween decorations this October in La Plata County. The tradition seems to grow every year!

We’re asking readers to take a photograph of their Halloween decorations (or a neighbor’s) and send them to herald@durangoherald.com so we can share them with other readers.

Please include the location where the photo was taken, and we’ll republish some of the best on our website and in print editions of The Durango Herald. We need to receive photos by Wednesday in order to put together a photo display for next weekend. Thanks!

Have you noticed the spam appearing at the bottom of local news stories in the Facebook commenting section of our website at www.durangoherald.com? We certainly have. Our apologies. It has been a persistent and pervasive problem, to say the least.

We are working with a third-party vendor to try to clamp down on the problem. In the meantime, we are doing our best to delete the spam when we see it, but the bots seem to operate 24/7. We are aware of it, and we are looking for a solution.
