The Durango AARP chapter will hold a community shredding event from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave.
The event is free, open to all and offers the opportunity to securely dispose of documentation and other papers. Residents can shred up to three boxes or one trash bag of paper material and are asked to bring at least one nonperishable food item to donate to Durango Food Bank.
