Signs of spring poking up

In a sure sign that a change in the season is fast approaching, crocus emerge from a flower bed along East Second Avenue on Wednesday. The city can expect mostly sunny skies the rest of the week, with a high approaching 60 degrees Friday, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a slight chance of a rain shower on Saturday, when skies are expected to be partly cloudy.
