The Silverton Fourth of July Celebration will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park, 1800 Greene Street, Silverton.
The daylong celebration will begin with a fun run and continue with events for the whole family.
The 2K, 5K and 10K Fun Run to benefit the Silverton Youth Center will begin at 8 a.m. at Memorial Park. After the races, the Fourth of July parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Greene and Blair streets. Dozens of floats, motorcycles and ATVs will travel through town to Memorial Park, where children can join the Fire Department in a water fight.
From noon to 4 p.m., the Carnival in the Park and Brass Band Concert will take place at Memorial Park. Along with live music, the carnival will feature a bounce house, human hamster balls, the Last Frontier Wild West Village, carnival activities, food and more. Launch one of hundreds of rubber duckies in the Duck Derby at 2 p.m. at Cement Creek.
At the Greene Street Block Party, attendees can enjoy food, drink, live music and stage acts from 6 to 10 p.m. Capping off the celebration will be the fireworks display at dusk. Fireworks are set off near the Shrine of the Mines on Anvil Mountain.
